Katherine Plaza, Veterinary Assistant
Katherine Plaza joined the Ohana team as a Veterinary Assistant in 2013. Kat first worked in Peru caring for puppies- from birth to weaning. She was entrusted with the treatment, care and raising of both orphaned and sickly puppies. When she moved to Virginia with her parents, Katherine wanted to continue working with animals and expand her working knowledge in veterinary medicine. Kat loves working with puppies, kittens, dogs and cats too! We are proud to announce Katherine’s acceptance into the Technician Program to improve her skills and her ability to care for all our Ohana patients. Kat speaks Spanish and English and I am sure “animal” as well. The patients truly love her.
Katherine enjoys her free time with her husband and “Princess”, her Peruvian Hairless dog.
Kelly Graves, Veterinary Assistant
Kelly Graves joined the Ohana team in May of 2015. Kelly spent a lot of time visiting her grandparents’ farm growing up and enjoyed helping with the livestock. She developed her love for caring for animals and found it to be very rewarding. Kelly realized that animals gave so much unconditional love and required so little in return. After high school, Kelly joined a clinic in Warrenton where she started as a receptionist. She quickly learned that she had a natural ability with helping the doctors and patients. With over ten years of experience as a veterinary assistant, her desire to continually be a strong team player, she has committed to the next step in becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. We are truly pleased to have Kelly on our team!
In her free time she enjoys the outdoors with her four legged kids, hiking or just hanging out by the water. Her very spoiled Chihuahua insists that belly rubs are an important part of the daily routine as well.
